YAKERS Calming Dog Chew – XL Natural Himalayan Chew

YAKERS Calming Dog Chew is the traditional Himalayan milk chew, made with 90% milk and milk derivatives and smoke-dried for 28 days, combined with plantain, blackberry, pumpkin, passionflower and valerian root. Passionflower and valerian root are traditionally associated with relaxation, making this a chew to reach for when you want a calmer chewing session.

It’s a firm, long-lasting chew, high in protein (57.5%) and calcium (1.5%), and low in fat (6%). Suitable for dogs from 4 months, each chew is approximately 18cm long and weighs around 140g.

The firm texture encourages proper chewing, which can help support everyday dental hygiene as part of a wider dental care routine.

This product is not a treatment for anxiety or behavioural conditions. Every dog responds differently, and it should be used alongside your usual approach to a calm environment, not instead of it.

Feeding guide

• A complementary food, suitable for dogs from 4 months
• Not suitable for puppies under 4 months
• Always supervise your dog when chewing, and provide fresh water
• Once your dog is left with a small end piece, microwave it on high for 30–60 seconds until it puffs up, then let it cool completely before giving it back
• Always check the piece is cool and an appropriate size before offering it

FAQs

What does “calming” mean for this chew?
It contains valerian root and passionflower, traditionally linked to relaxation, alongside the usual YAKERS milk chew. It’s not a treatment for anxiety, and dogs respond differently, but many owners find it useful for a calmer chewing session.

How is it different from the original YAKERS chew?
Same Himalayan milk chew base, with added calming botanicals. Nutritionally similar, with a comparable protein and fat content.

Can puppies have it?
Not under 4 months. From 4 months, supervise as with any chew.

What do I do with the last bit?
