Frequently asked questions

Is it really hypoallergenic?

The recipe leaves out beef, pork, soya, eggs, dairy and wheat, which are common triggers for food sensitivities. It is not a treatment for a diagnosed allergy, so if your dog has one, check with your vet before switching.

Is it grain free?

No. It is built on rice, oats and barley. If you want a grain free recipe, James Wellbeloved make a separate grain free range.

Can a dog with a poultry or fish allergy eat it?

Check the ingredients carefully. This recipe contains poultry fat and fish oil as well as turkey, so it may not suit a dog with a confirmed poultry or fish allergy. Your vet can advise.

What age is this for?

It is a complete food for adult dogs, which for most breeds means from around 12 months. Puppies need a puppy or junior recipe, and older dogs may do better on a senior recipe. Large breeds mature later, so ask your vet if you are unsure.

How do I switch my dog to this food?

Change over gradually, mixing a little more of the new food with the old each day for 7 to 10 days. Switching overnight can upset a dog’s tummy.

Does it need anything added?

No. It is a complete food, so it can be fed on its own with plenty of fresh water. If you feed treats, take the equivalent amount off the daily portion.
