A crunchy, poultry-based dry food for wild hedgehogs. Brambles Crunchy Hedgehog Food is a complementary food made from small kibble with poultry meat meal as the main ingredient, with added vitamins and minerals, and no artificial colours, flavours or added sugar.

The small, crunchy kibble suits hedgehogs, and the firm texture gently scrubs their teeth as they eat to support dental health. It works well as an evening feed in a shallow dish and can be offered on its own or mixed with Brambles Semi-Moist or Meaty Hedgehog Food for variety in taste and texture. The manufacturer says it is recommended by wildlife rescues and hospitals. Available in 900g or 2kg bags.

Feeding guidelines

Each evening, put out about one handful per hedgehog in a shallow dish, and adjust the amount to how much is eaten. Always provide a separate shallow dish of fresh water, especially when feeding dry food and in warm weather. Hedgehogs can take a while to accept a new food, so keep offering it. Remove any uneaten food in the morning and wash the dish before refilling. A simple covered feeding station can help keep cats and dogs away from the food.

Please don’t feed mealworms to hedgehogs. They are high in phosphorus and low in calcium, which can lead to metabolic bone disease (MBD) and weak, painful bones. Never give hedgehogs milk or bread, and avoid peanuts, sunflower hearts, sugar, honey, dried fruit and suet.
